FARM-Africa Home

FARM-Africa works with poor African farmers, helping them to produce more food for their families. We want to make sure future generations don't have to depend on handouts of aid.

Tips for Planning an Event

Planning - arrange the date, place and time of the event well in advance. Decide on food, drink, a timetable for activities, any entertainment, ticket prices, help needed on the day and any extra equipment you might need.

Publicity - remember to publicise the event in good time. The FARM-Africa Head Office may be able to help, especially for larger events, by letting other supporters in the area know or helping with printing the tickets etc.

Target audience - establish your target audience and how you can attract them to your event.

Legal issues - does anyone need to be informed about the event? Do you need insurance or a licence? Consider the security of the money and the people handling it. Ideally two people should be responsible for counting any money taken.

Bright Ideas - Friends of FARM constantly come up with exciting new fundraising ideas to support our work. Whether a 'round the country' cycle or a sponsored 'cake-athon', it just shows that supporting our work can be great fun!

In the coming months, we will publish the brightest and best ideas for raising funds for our work from the FARM-Africa groups...and also send us in your ideas and tips.
