The Guardian launches new development website

The Guardian has launched a new website in partnership with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation this week to help focus the world’s attention on global development.  One key aim is to follow and monitor global progress towards the millennium development goals. The website features articles from some of the Guardian’s finest development journalists, together with blogs and opinions from some of the world’s leading development experts, including Dr Christie Peacock, Chief Executive of FARM-Africa.

An excellent initiative. Please note that FAO is inviting abstracts from around the World that document evidence that expanding and diversifying food supplies and promoting better care and feeding practices can make a difference in dietary intakes and nutritional status. Successful papers will be presneted at the International Symposium on Food and Nutrition Security: Food-Based Approaches for Improving Diets and Raising Levels of Nutrition FAO, Rome, 7-9 December 2010.
