‘Just wanted to say thank you for Sunday, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Well done on some great organization and thanks for the cheers and support going round the course – it was very encouraging as we plodded on!’ from Debbie, 2007 10k team member.

Kilimanjaro Summit Climb Fundraising Challenge
Kilimanjaro – the ‘Shining Mountain’ in Swahili, stands across the great plain of Africa at a formidable 5,895m. As Africa’s highest mountain and the highest ‘free standing’ mountain in the world, its perennially snow-capped peak is a famous symbol and a renowned challenge.
Tanzanians are proud of their landmark, but we need to conserve the environment which supports 80% of the population. FARM-Africa works in the northern districts of Tanzania, educating and assisting communities in environmental management, livestock development and farming techniques. In the same way as FARM-Africa's past Kilimanjaro climbers, you will see how your challenge can give the groups we work with, from school children to business women, opportunities to improve their standard of living.
The ascent is a true challenge, but you will be supported with fantastic African hospitality by your local guides who understand the mountain, as well as your needs. When you summit you will be rewarded with majestic views, of the plains of Tanzania, knowing you have not only conquered Kili, but also made a difference.
Available dates in 2008: 25 June - 6 July, 10-21 September, or 3-14 December. Click here to see the full itinerary.

Footsteps of the Maasai Trek
Perhaps the most revered of the great African nomadic tribes, the Maasai were once known as the fiercest of warriors. Now they struggle to retain their lifestyle, living in harmony with their livestock and natural environment.
The pastoralists of East Africa are amongst the most poor and excluded people in Africa. FARM-Africa works with pastoralist tribes across the region, helping to ensure that the pastoralists’ voices are heard and their way of life is sustained. This dream challenge can help make this vital work a reality.
With the Maasai as your guides on this adventure you will trek from the sacred Mt. Longdio, across the floor of the legendary Great Rift Valley to the foothills of the awesome Crater Highlands. En route, you will also have the chance to visit Mt Kitumbeine; on whose higher slopes are hidden remote Maasai settlements.
You will celebrate the end of your challenge with a fabulous game drive, spotting rhinos, lions, elephants, buffalo and giraffes in one of the Natural Wonders of the World, the Ngorongoro Crater.
Available dates in 2008: 8-17 February, 13-22 June, or 3-12 October. Click here to see the full itinerary.

Congratulations to our Flora London Marathon Team
FARM-Africa would like to thank all of the amazing runners who took part in the Flora London Marathon on Sunday April 13 in support of FARM-Africa.
This year we had 22 runners, our biggest ever marathon team!
Each runner battled through wind, rain and hailstone to raise funds to help FARM-Africa to dramatically improve the lives of Africa's marginalised small-scale farmers and herders.
FARM-Africa would also like to thank the all of those who were part of the fantastic support on the day, at FARM-Africa cheering points and elsewhere along the Flora London Marathon route; whistling, cheering, clapping and screaming our runners all the way to the finish line.
If you would like to run for FARM-Africa in the Flora London Marathon 2009 please contact us at fundraising@farmafrica.org.uk or on 020 7430 0440.
