Getting Churches involved

Churches

FARM-Africa has found its way into the hearts of churches across the country. Congregations are learning about FARM-Africa and the communities we work with.  As well as remembering them in prayers, churches are doing what they can to help bring a brighter future to some of Africa's poorest farmers. They are digging out their wellies and getting involved in Give Poverty the Boot.

Give Poverty the Boot is a great fun campaign with a serious mission: to stamp out poverty in rural Africa by empowering farmers with the tools, training and support they need to prosper. When you and your church Give it Some Welly, you enable families in Africa to afford the basics - food, clean water, medicines and school books.

Our Give Poverty the Boot site is dedicated to helping churches raise awareness of FARM-Africa's work, and much needed funds. You'll find:

  • Fundraising ideas: We suggest plenty of activities for the whole congregation, from fêtes and walks to hunger lunches and quiz nights.
  • Fundraising resources: We provide sponsor forms and posters to help publicise your activities.
  • Sunday school resources: We've created lesson plans and a prayer that Sunday schools can use at harvest time.
