Harvest fun and fundraising for all the congregation

How your church can help Give Poverty the Boot!

Harvest Festival is a time to be thankful for our bountiful harvests, but also to remember those less fortunate than us who struggle with hunger and poverty. FARM-Africa helps poor farmers reap better harvests – now and for the future. So by raising money to support FARM-Africa’s work, your church can really make a difference this Harvest.

We’ve devised lots of fundraising ideas to involve the whole congregation. There’s plenty to appeal to children, from welly-decorating to scarecrow stuffing, and activities to bring together the whole family, such as nature walks and harvest fêtes. You can dust off those brain cells and team up for a quiz night, or skip your Sunday roast in favour of a hunger lunch. Alternatively, you can bring everyone together for a charity sports event with a difference – a wild and wacky afternoon of welly-wanging, welly football, and even welly limbo.

To give you a helping hand planning your Harvest Festival, we provide:

Give Poverty the Boot pack

  • Detailed fundraising ideas sheets
  • Sponsorship forms

Give it Some Welly and fill up a welly!

Why not swap that collection plate for a welly this Harvest? Donations, sponsor money, proceeds from cake sales, even small change liberated from down the back of the sofa – every penny counts. Challenge your church to fill that welly by Harvest!
