New community forest maps in Tanzania

The planning team from six villages together with FARM-Africa and District forestry staff members have been demarcating and drawing community forest maps. After the drawing of maps, the communities will be supported to form bylaws which will help them to manage their forests more effectively. The community will gain property rights to their forests.

Also, the FARM-Africa trained beekeepers are now forming their own community based organisation which will be responsibile for selling the beekeeping products. This community based organisation will also support conservation initiatives at the village level as well as community development.
